Teaching at The Expedition School (TES) means you are part of a community, an incredible community of dedicated professionals who work together to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of every student. This sense of community is apparent in how staff support one another, care for each other and laugh together daily in the halls of TES.
The TES values include Build Equitable Community (We are one team), Integrity (We do the right thing), Growth Mindset (We keep learning) and Work Towards Excellence (We do our best). TES actively seeks teaching candidates who already demonstrate and embrace these values.
All TES teachers are placed with an instructional coach and all beginning teachers are placed with mentor teachers. Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) meet regularly to collaborate and give feedback regarding various school topics. Professional development for teachers occurs on Wednesdays as students are dismissed two hours early.
The Expedition School seeks to be dynamic, vibrant and diverse community. Race equity training is provided to all staff on a recurring basis and our school equity team is leading the effort to increase the racial diversity of TES and to maintain a school climate centered on inclusivity and equity. We welcome prospective candidates to explore our Diversity in Hiring Effort on our website.
