The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is designed for future teachers who are seeking initial North Carolina teacher licensure and currently hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in one or more of the following areas: biology, history, English, mathematics, business, theatre or related fields.

You can complete the classroom portions of the program online, meeting live with your learning community at the same scheduled time each week. Classroom placements and student teaching will be in person. Mars Hill will help you find a placement near you.
