Duplin County, home of the largest winery in the South, is in the eastern part of North Carolina, about one hour from the coast.  The Duplin County Schools serve 9,844 students in 13 schools.  Our early college is on the campus of James Sprunt Community College. Our mission is to work with the community to prepare all our students for career, college, and life success. Our vision is to become an exemplary school system where all students and staff excel in a globally competitive society.

    We are committed to providing excellent, differentiated, and layered support to our teachers in Duplin County Schools. Our Beginning Teacher Coordinators are available to assist new teachers in several capacities throughout the year. All first-year teachers are provided a three-day orientation in August. During the orientation, professional development is conducted in areas such as classroom management, time management, and curriculum/instruction.
