Mitchell County is nestled in the picturesque mountains of western North Carolina. We are a rural county with approximately 1740 students in grades K-12 and seven schools. Academic excellence is the desired result for all students in our district and we are on a continual path to maximize student learning at every grade. Our programs provide students with technology, skills, and knowledge to be effective members of our school community and a global society.
