Richmond County is a rural area located in the Sandhills of North Carolina. The district is home to 7,355 students and services these students at fifteen schools. There are seven elementary, four middle, an early college, a 9th grade academy and a high school. We have a wonderful educational community that prides itself on professional development and educational success. Richmond County is first in our region in student growth. This means we meet our students where they need help and deliver high quality instruction that helps them to grow and find the educational success they deserve.
Teachers in Richmond County are never alone. They are constantly supported and trained to ensure they grow as educators and provide the best possible educational experience for our students. Richmond County Schools provides a Teacher Cadet program for students in the 11th and 12th grades. This program is geared towards students interested in going into the area of teaching. These students participate in two classes and are allowed to observe classes in our district.
