Start Teaching Anytime with iteach
With iteach, you can enroll anytime and get started right away. The program has two phases to help you become a licensed teacher.

Phase One: Getting Started
As soon as you enroll, you can start your first course. The courses are online and self-paced, so you can go as fast as you want but they need to be done in order. Each course has quizzes and assignments with helpful feedback from your instructor. When you finish one course, you will automatically be signed up for the next one within 24 hours—no waiting for the next semester. You will also get test prep to help you pass your licensure content exam.

Phase Two: Your Residency
After finishing your first course and meeting the requirements for your Residency License, you can start teaching full-time as a resident teacher. You will have an Instructional Coach to support you and guide you through the process including preparing for the edTPA, a teaching performance assessment. You will keep working on your courses at your own pace while teaching.

You’ll earn full pay while teaching in a North Carolina public school on a Residency License.

As you complete your licensure requirements, you’ll put what you’re learning in your courses directly into practice in your classroom.

Plus, you’ll get ongoing support and helpful feedback from your iteach Instructional Coach to guide your growth as a teacher.

Your iteach coursework meets state and national standards to help you build the skills and knowledge needed to support all students.

You’ll also learn how to: 

• Recognize different learning needs
• Make adjustments for students with disabilities
• Work effectively with English language learners and bilingual students

As an iteach candidate, you’ll be matched with an Instructional Coach who specializes in your teaching subject.

Your coach will support and guide you throughout your Residency and help you prepare for the edTPA.

They’ll give you feedback on your teaching through virtual classroom observations and reflection assignments, so you can keep growing and improving.
