Not every job offers the opportunity to change lives while you're at work. For teachers, it's a part of the every day. At the Cato College of Education at UNC Charlotte, we recognize that to provide PK-12 students a rich educational experince, current and future teachers need practical options for growing their knowledge and skills. Our new model for distance education combines online courses and innovative clinical labs where our students have the oppotunity to rehearse instructional practices and receive feedback from peers and our exceptional course instructors. Under this model, students may earn both a Graduate Certificate and Master of Arts in Teaching in a variety of subjects. Students can gain licensure in as little as 12 to 18 months depending on the program and start term. This program is an ideal fit for those who already hold a Bachelor's degree but need a teaching license. Students who earn the Graduate Certificate in Teaching have the option to take a second set of courses to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching, an advanced licensure program.
