Troops to Teachers is changing! Pardon our dust.

The national and state Troops to Teachers programs are no longer in place—but TeachNC has plenty of help for service members who want to teach. While we fix up this space for you, check out the FREE services and personalized advice we offer to all future teachers in the state. Including you!

North Carolina is a veteran-friendly state. More than 730,000 veterans call North Carolina home, so you’ll be in a military community when you work and play here.

The state needs qualified and passionate teachers with unique, applicable experience. As a service member, your dedication to service and leadership fits the bill.

Veterans who become teachers tend to stay on the job longer and better reflect the cultural and linguistic diversity of the state’s students. In North Carolina, schools look to hire more male-identified teachers, and 89 percent of veterans are men. Thirty percent of veterans also identify as minorities in a region striving to hire more teachers of color. Female-identified veterans help to encourage young women to pursue traditionally male-dominated disciplines, particularly in STEM areas.
