Through the Brass to Class Act for North Carolina veterans, you can be awarded one year of teaching experience credit for every two years of leadership and instructional responsibilities during military service. That means a $1,000 pay raise for every one year of teaching experience.

North Carolina participates in the federal Yellow Ribbon program that covers the difference in cost between the in-state tuition of a public school and its out-of-state costs so that any veteran can enroll at a NC college at the in-state rate.
At the national level through the Yellow Ribbon Program, veterans who attend participating higher education institutions are eligible to earn a postsecondary degree free of charge at public schools, or for significantly reduced rates at private schools. Find out if your school participates.
