Meet Amanda Turner
Teacher Ambassador
I teach in Johnston County Public Schools because it is home to me. I knew that I wanted to teach in my home county and give back to the community that gave me so much. Though this district is growing, we have managed to keep that small town feeling and that is something that is very important to me. I love that we stand for serving the whole child and not just their academic side. Our district values our students and their families as people and we work together to serve them any way that we can.

Why I Teach
I was inspired to pursue a career in education because I am passionate about learning and think that our youth hold the key to our nation’s future. I think that it is a huge responsibility to take on leading the younger generation, but one that I have found challenging and rewarding all at the same time. Now that I am in the classroom, my inspiration to continue to teach comes from my students. They are constantly coming up with ideas and profound thoughts that amaze me. I know that my students are our future leaders and that inspires me to do my very best to meet their academic and personal needs each and every day.
