Woven throughout our vision, mission and core values is the belief that all children can learn and be successful in life. Our process and decision making is a data-driven process used aligned with the comprehensive District Strategic Plan and Schools Improvement Plans. To fulfill the vision and mission of the school system, the Montgomery County Board of Education and Montgomery County Schools staff members have developed a strategic plan for the purpose of addressing critical issues facing our school system and the plan is reflective of our understanding that our students need to be highly skilled to compete in today's global economy and our belief that responsibility for learning is shared with family and community.

Montgomery County Schools provides mentoring programs, a partnership with the Sandhills Leadership Academy for administrators and a development grant from Pfeiffer. Beginning teachers through their third year have mentors.

Montgomery County Schools offers a competitive salary and benefits package to qualified teachers in a low cost of living community. Tuition reimbursement is available for alternative license teachers. Signing bonuses are offered for math, science, and exceptional children teachers. The Board of Education recently approved a 20 percent supplement increase for teachers making our benefits even more attractive to potential teaching candidates.

Montgomery County Schools offers the Teacher Cadet Training Program for our students at our high schools. This program provides our students opportunities to gain exposure to the teaching career and hands on experience in our schools.
