Meet Christy Jolly
Teacher Ambassador
Wilkes County Schools is a great place to be! As a Reading Specialist, I had the opportunity to visit several of our elementary schools. Some of the elementary schools are very large while some are quite small. All of these elementary schools had so much to offer their teachers and students. The administrators and teachers are dedicated individuals who want the best for their students. I consider it a true blessing to have worked in the Wilkes County School district for my entire teaching career.

Why I Teach
As an elementary teacher, a big part of my inspiration each year is watching my first graders grow from a non-reader to a great reader. I have had and continue to have a front row seat to witnessing a child go through the stages of learning to read throughout the year. This never gets old. Nothing makes me prouder than to see my students succeed, knowing I have helped to give them the skills they need for the future. The smile on their face when they realize they are reading and are being successful is in itself a great reward. I am truly fortunate to do what I am so passionate about for a living. It is so much more than just a job. Knowing I am changing lives for the better every day in my classroom is truly fulfilling and inspires me to continue to do the most important job in the world: teaching.
