Upon acceptance you will meet with an academic advisor to evaluate your transcripts and devise a plan of study.

Testing: You will be delighted to know that the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators test is not required. You will, however, be expected to pass the edTPA assessment for your content area, along with your required State-level assessments.

Coursework: You will enroll in courses that provide essential content and pedagogical knowledge (what to teach and how to teach).

Practical Experience: Your final semester will consist of 16 weeks in a setting appropriate to your licensure area.

In most courses you will have the opportunity to complete 10-20 hours of active participation in daycare or classroom settings to learn more about the profession. At the internship, you will complete 16 weeks as a full-time student teacher.

You will take several courses designed around serving diverse populations of students and families, including special needs and the military. The field experience placements focus on rural, urban, and suburban areas and various socioeconomic levels.

You will be provided with an academic advisor who is also trained as a certified success coach to make sure that you are efficiently matriculating toward your degree.
